PROJECT DETAILS
OBJECTIVE
Paros Park agreed to create a documentary with the IUPUI Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering (Formerly known as SOIC). This documentary would highlight and promote their new botanical garden as well as their efforts to prevent soil erosion on the island of Paros, Greece. The goal was to make a short 5-7 minute documentary featuring an interview of Elena, a park steward, and presenting the natural beauty of the island.
EXECUTION
Originally, this documentary was cancelled by the producers due to a couple of our study abroad members returning to the US. After demonstrating my editing abilities on a separate project, the producers switched me from a minor role on the first project to the primary editor for this documentary.
My production partner had no editing or video experience. As a result, I took over additional responsibilities to make up for shortcomings. I gained significant editing experience in DaVinci Resolve. Additionally, I gained experience in a fast-paced production environment and a remote work environment.
EXTRAS
This project was incredibly fun to produce. Videographer Autumn and I were able to hike at the park while gathering footage. My favorite part of the park was the Rock Park trail. One of the production photos feature me hiking around with a camera.
